The Westbad in Munich is the winner of the gold medal of this year's (2003)
IOC/IAKS AWARDS in the category "Sport and Leisure facilities in city
location". The jury praised the felicitous integration of the building into
the landscape by using a elliptic shape as well as the comprehensive range
for swimming athletes and families. In addition, the facility has an energy
efficiency above average due to the consequent realisation of heat recovery
in all areas. This was possible through the intelligent air conditioning
systems of MENERGA
