The pilot project of building services engineering of the Berliner Stadtreinigungswerke "BSR" aimed to combine successfully independent energy systems like heat generation from earth collector fields, solar thermal energy and photo voltaics. Receiving the Environmental Protection Award of Berlin proofs that the concept has worked.
Also the air conditioning system is invented smartly. The entire air is being aspirated from a so-called air well on the premises and then transported through a tube system 2.5 metres under the earth. After being filtered and temperature-controlled the air passes through the venting slots in the floor and delivers fresh air to the individual offices free of draught.
